Commanding home win for Josep Garcia on day one at FIM EnduroGP of Spain

The opening day of racing at round two of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship saw Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia win in Oliana, Spain.

TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon and GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona completed the EnduroGP podium in second and third, respectively.

Garcia rides to EnduroGP victory on home soil

Under sunny skies in Oliana, Spain, the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship readied itself for an exciting day of racing at round two. Riding a wave of momentum following his win in Friday’s AKRAPOVIC Super Test, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia began day one primed for business.

Sharp off the mark, the Spaniard quickly topped the opening GMOTO Enduro Test by almost six seconds from TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon, with GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona a further seven seconds behind in third.

Fastest in the opening POLISPORT Extreme Test ahead of Sherco Racing Factory’s Theo Espinasse, Garcia extended his lead to 15 seconds over Pichon. With Verona winning the first ACERBIS Cross Test, and Garcia placing an ‘uncharacteristic’ fifth, it momentarily looked like the fight for victory was about to tighten up.

Vilde Holt boekt goede resultaten in het EK en WK enduro

Vilde Holt van het WPM team boekt goede resultaten in het Europees en wereldkampioenschap enduro. Het afgelopen weekend kwam ze aan de start in het Portugese Fafe, waar de wedstrijd van het Europees Kampioenschap samen werd verreden met het wereldkampioenschap.

Vilde begon goed aan het GP weekend. Op vrijdag liep het lekker in de supertest. Ze opende als snelste maar in het tweede gedeelte maakte ze een foutje en verloor daar tijd. Uiteindelijk eindigde op 15 seconden van de snelste maar het rijden voelde goed aan en ook de motor functioneerde perfect.

Op zaterdag was het zwaarder door de vele regenval. Vilde eindigde op een negende plaats.

Simon Koning over Enduro GP Portugal

Afgelopen weekend was de Enduro GP van Portugal, ik ben dit jaar van plan om minimaal 4 Enduro GP wedstrijden te gaan rijden. Ik heb dit altijd al willen doen, om op het hoogste niveau met te mogen rijden is voor mijn een droom.
Leo is dinsdag morgen vertrokken naar Portugal met de motoren en de spullen, ik zelf ben samen met Remco en mijn vader op woensdag avond naar Portugal gevlogen.

Op donderdag was het redelijk mooi weer en ik heb die dag alle proeven gelopen, het waren echt mooie proeven. Ruim opgezet en in een fantastisch gebied, er was 1 extreem proef met veel rotsen en groten stenen een cross proef die vrij snel was met veel hoogte verschil en een enduro proef die maar liefst bijna 10 minuten lang was.
