The second day of the Enduro Championship in Jämsä (Finland) brought a surprise with the overall victory of Tom Sagar: on the demanding track, the British rider has been in advantage after the third place in the overall of yesterday. “I had to do well in the enduro tests,” Sagar said . “The cross track was too slippery for my 450”.

UITSLAG Scratch: dag 1 / dag 2. Het lijkt wel of de EK organisatoren elkaar dit jaar steeds weer willen overtreffen. Maar als WK route inspector Micheluz zich gaat beklagen dan is het wel erg pittig. En volgens multi-kampioen en E2 leider Tom Sagar was dit één van de zwaarste wedstrijden die hij ooit had gereden. Dik zeven uur op de motor voor drie ronden en negen proeven; een route met alleen maar stenen, wortels en moddergaten en ook nog een paar hellingen waar iedereen hulp nodig had. Op zaterdag kwamen er maar 74 van de 160 rijders aan de finish.
Juist op die zwaarste dag leverde Robin Nijkamp (E2) ondanks een zware val, een zeer sterke prestatie met een zesde plaats. Thierry Pittens (7e, E1) en Lucas Dolfing (8e, E1) deden het ook uitstekend.
Op zondag werd de wedstrijd met één ronde ingekort. Nijkamp werd opnieuw zesde en er kwamen zes van de negen Nederlanders aan de finish. Daaronder Nina Klink die op zaterdag wegens tijdsoverschrijding werd gediskwalificeerd maar op zondag keurig finishte.
De finale van het Ek wordt eind oktober in Duitsland verreden.
It was an extremely physically demanding first day at the third round of the Enduro Championship in Jämsä / Finland: in perfect weatherconditions, the over 50 km long circular course presented many rocks, roots and driveways: More than half of all riders did not arrive in the finish-line, gave up from exhaustion or timeout.
Under such difficult conditions clearly dominated the Finnish riders with guest starters Roni Nikander (KTM) and Marko Tarkkala (Beta).

After more than two months summer break, now the Enduro Championship is coming to the far north: Jämsä in Finland is known as an international venue for off-road events for many years.
On the participants many stones and roots wait for the stage and a lot of sand in the specials – through the different conditions is a particular challenge.
Conveniently, the paddock is the only service point
Done! The MP41 and the entire Belgium country have passed their test with this very first Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship Grand Prix. And this one has been very good… Back on a crazy week of Belgian organizers and EWC caravan.

For the very first time in Enduro history, Belgium received a round of the Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship and it’s the MP41 that has to organize it. And what we can say is that they did it pretty well… Making nice special tests
