Thierry Pittens en Robin Holtmeulen hebben mee gedaan aan de eerste race van de nieuwe serie in Portugal. Thierry behaalde de 18e plaats in de experts klasse en Robin de 36e.

Wat een gaaf weekend achter de rug !! De eerste wedstrijd van de World Enduro Super Series. Nog nooit zoveel meegemaakt als dit weekend. Ik ben zeer tevreden over de uitslag, het begon vrijdag met de superenduro, ik kwalificeerde me voor de finale en haalde er een nette 4de plaats uit. Zaterdag moesten we een extreem ronde rijden in de grote stad van Porto. Hier zette ik een 14de tijd neer. Zondag was het DE grote dag, een zware extreem route met 21 checkpoints. Ik begon super aan de wedstrijd ik lag op een 11de plaats toen ik bij enigste tankstop van de route aan kwam, ik voelde me goed tot dat ik in een rivier belandde en ik helemaal kopje onder ging met motor en al waardoor ik moest sleutelen. Ik verloor veel tijd waardoor ik een aantal plekken terug zakte naar een 18de plaats. Maar al bij al ben ik zeker een ervaring rijker. Ik ben erg tevreden met deze uitslag. Bolt Wins World Enduro Super Series Opener In Lagares, Portugal
Lagares, Portugal – May 13, 2018 — Britain’s Billy Bolt has claimed victory at the opening round of the inaugural World Enduro Super Series – the Extreme XL Lagares in Portugal. Securing the top step of the podium the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider takes an early lead in this year’s search for the ULTIMATE ENDURO CHAMPION.
In what was a thrilling and at times unpredictable battle, Bolt was followed home by Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jonny Walker (GB) in second with Germany’s Manuel Lettenbichler (KTM) completing the podium in third.

Robin Holtmeulen en Thierry Pittens klaar voor de Wess competitie
Wess staat voor World Enduro Super Series, het zijn wedstrijden onder extreme omstandigheden, door heel Europa.
Op 22 en 23 april hebben deze 2 heren al een wedstrijd meegereden in Tsjechië de Drapak Rodeo, dit was bedoeld als voorbereiding voor de 1e wedstrijd voor de Wess competitie. Ze wisten daar allebei al een goed resultaat neer te zetten, van de 450 rijders, werd Thierry 15e en Robin 27e, dus neem maar van mij aan dat ze al een aardig stukje Extreem kunnen rijden.
Zaterdag 5 mei zijn Robin en Thierry samen met Anthony Donders als ondersteuner, afgereisd naar Porto in Portugal een reis van 2200 km. In de dagen voorafgaand aan de wedstrijd hebben ze nog in de omgeving getraind met enkele lokale helden.

Go time for WESS: World Enduro Super Series starts in Portugal
Wels, Austria – May 8, 2018 — It’s all systems go as the inaugural World Enduro Super Series clicks into gear for round one at Extreme XL Lagares in Portugal, May 11-13, as the search for the ULTIMATE ENDURO CHAMPION begins.
With the wait finally over, history will be made in northern Portugal when the first ever round of the mixed-discipline WESS championship gets underway. Extreme XL Lagares — now in its 14th edition — has the honour of hosting the opening event of the series.
In total 252 competitors from 20 nations, including the world’s best Enduro riders, will take to the start line in the Penafiel region of Portugal for three days of exciting, and challenging, Enduro racing.

GP Polisport of Portugal – Day 2 Report: Another Double as SALVINI Stamps His Authority!
JET Racing rider Alex SALVINI got his weekend off to a great start on Friday evening at the Polisport Grand Prix of Portugal’s Akrapovic Super Test and ended it on a high this afternoon in Castelo Branco on this very same Super Test course, giving us a dramatic finale full of emotions. Indeed it was the first time that the Super Test (a short and technical special where the riders run head-to-head) was organised as the final special test of a Grand Prix… and the idea paid off on all levels with a big crowd who came to enjoy the fight in the city center – a grand finale of a day disputed in the heat and dust of Portugal’s tests.
