The partly heavy rain had made the track and special stages at the finale of the European Enduro Championship in Heinola, Finland, particularly difficult and demanding. On the slippery stones and smooth roots the motorcycles had to set the best times.

At first, 19-year-old Roni Kytönen was able to use his home advantage and took the lead – but always the Englishman Jed Etchells was at the back. After the first lap, he found the right suspension setting on his new Sherco and pushed the Finn in front of him. At the end of the second lap he was able to take the lead

FIM Europe enduro & rallye commisson: extraordinary meeting

The FIM Enduro & Rally Commission took advantage of the moment on Thursday in Heinola on the the final of the European Enduro Championship: Almost all members of the commission were present and so the Chairman Marco Bolzonello (Italy) had invited to an extraordinary meeting.
In particular, the two guests, Enduro promoter Wolfgang Butzner and the Enduro press officer, spoke about the future of Enduro racing and the development of the number of participants beyond the coming year.
Bolzonello then discussed with the members Pavol Sas (Slovakia), Robert Svensson (Sweden), Artus Robeznieks (Latvia) and Hannu Häkkälä (Finland) the regulations and implementation of the events Rallye, Cross-Country and Bajas for the coming year.

FIM Europe: Enduro-Championship – Finale without leading rider Kouble after injury

The Czech driver Krystof Kouble, leader of the European Enduro Championship, broke his thigh during a training crash.
After the necessary surgery he is still in hospital and will not start at the finals of the championship in Heinola, Finland (this weekend)
Therefore he will not be able to win the championship.

Bas Klein Haneveld niet geheel tevreden over het BK Enduro in Dinant

Bas Klein Haneveld van het Altop Husqvarna team blikt niet geheel tevreden terug op het Belgisch Kampioenschap Enduro Dinant. Gedurende de dag begon het steeds beter te gaan totdat hij in de derde ronde een dal in schoot en ten val kwam. Omdat hier kostbare tijd verloren ging, kwam hij niet verder dan een zevende plaats in de E2 klasse.

Bas pakte de wedstrijd in Dinant mee als voorbereiding op de rest van het enduroseizoen.

De tweede trainingswedstrijd werd afgesloten met een mooie tweede plaats voor Vogels

Het werd voor Vogels een mooie wedstrijd in het Belgisch kampioenschap enduro.
“Ja, het ging niet vanzelf.” vertelde Hans over zijn wedstrijd in Dinant, die werd verreden in het Belgisch kampioenschap enduro.

“Na de tweede ronde reed ik op kop en ineens was het over. De derde en de vierde ronde reed ik als een natte krant, het ging helemaal niet meer. De ondergrond was hard, droog, stoffig en dus glad. Ik zwiepte alle kanten uit en ben hem een paar keer met uitbreken achter flink verloren. Vooral ronde 3 was ik echt de slag even kwijt en was ik niet scherp genoeg.”
