EnduroGP Paddock News The Italian Show!

daan_spoletoThe Grand Prix of Italy always has a festival atmosphere, organized with a single passion: ENDURO. And the latest Italian GP, held in Spoleto last weekend, did not deviate from the rule. We look back at the news from the 3rd round of the 2017 Maxxis FIM EnduroGP Championship…

The Bike Festival
Together with Spoleto town the event organisers, Moto Club Spoleto, successfully put everything together to ensure this Italian GP celebrated ‘real Enduro’, as well as motorcycle sport in general. Throughout the weekend firework displays, entertainment, and stunt shows were put on to the delight of nearly 15,000 spectators. On Friday and Saturday night, fans of FMX were able to marvel at a great show inside the Stadio Communale featuring some of Italy’s top Freestyle riders.

Wesley Pittens debuteert met tweede plaats in de Hellas Rally

wesley_hellasrallyTijdens zijn allereerste rally is Yamaha-rijder Wesley Pittens op een tweede plaats geëindigd. De rijder uit Vorstenbosch stond zelfs nog even aan de leiding in zijn klasse (M2) maar moest uiteindelijk toch genoegen nemen met een tweede plaats.
In het Griekse Nafpaktos begon Wesley op maandag 22 mei aan de Hellas Rally Raid. Na een lange voorbereiding in Nederland kon hij niet wachten om van start te gaan. Ook het navigeren met een roadbook was nieuw en daarop bereidde hij zich goed voor met Ad Ketelaars.

Rik Vierhuizen maakt sterke rentree in het BK enduro

rikbkRik Vierhuizen van het WPM KTM team kwam tijdens een wintertraining in Spanje ten val waardoor hij lang uitgeschakeld was en het zes maanden geleden was dat hij voor het laatst een wedstrijd had gereden. Afgelopen weekend maakte hij zijn rentree tijdens het Belgisch Kampioenschap Enduro in Rocroi, waar hij op een vijfde plaats eindigde. Tijdens de tweede UMX wedstrijd in Harfsen stond Nina Klink aan de start. In de gecombineerde klasse werd ze vierde en vijfde en was hiermee twee keer de beste dame.

HOLCOMBE & GARCIA TOP DAY ONE OF THE ENDUROGP OF ITALY

steve.holcombe_EWC 2017 Rnd 3Claiming his first EnduroGP class win of 2017 to move to the top of the provisional EnduroGP World Championship standings, Steve Holcombe was the big winner on day one of the GP of Italy. Battling with Beta team-mate Alex Salvini throughout the day, the British rider eventually placed 11 seconds ahead following a costly mistake by Salvini during the day’s final enduro test. Rounding out the EnduroGP podium was Yamaha rider Loic Larrieu.

EnduroGP Akrapovic Super Test: Amazing BROWN !

Mike BROWN (USA - Husqvarna)On a « SuperEnduro style » track, the EnduroGP stars gave a lot to cheer for to the numerous spectators present for the second Super Test Akrapovic of the year this Friday evening in the Stadio Communale of Spoleto…

With that kind of track, it was the best moment for US Legend Mike BROWN (Husqvarna) to make the show for his first EnduroGP. The JET Team rider just killed the concurrence with an outstanding time of 1’51’’60. Second tonight, Alex SALVINI (I – Beta) ending more than 3 seconds behind him. It proves that, even being 45, “Brownie” still has his speed and his impressive skills…
