Day two of the Polisport EnduroGP of Portugal was one for the Brits as Jamie McCanney (Yamaha), Steve Holcombe (Beta)and Brad Freeman (Beta) respectively topped the Enduro 2, EnduroGP and Enduro Junior podiums. Another long, hot, dusty and demanding day in the saddle, there was plenty of drama with notable retirements in all classes.

Enjoying the most successful GP of his season so far, Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team rider Jamie McCanney wrapped up round six of the 2017 FIM EnduroGP World Championship claiming two Enduro 2 class victories during a hot and dusty EnduroGP of Portugal.
In dominant form throughout the weekend, the Manxman battled through extremely hot and dusty conditions to top the Enduro 2 class podium on both days in Castelo Branco.

Team De Doelen heeft de 1e Romaniacs trainings sessie erop zitten.
Moe maar voldaan. De mannen hadden goeie zin en hielden er flink het tempo in. Arjan van der Veld vond het best warm. Ook Dirk en Jacco hadden de “koppakking” lek 😅.
Dirk Schuttel had nog een knuffelsessie met het struikgewas.
De achterrijder vermaakte zich af en toe dan ook kostelijk…😁 Maar alles nog heel en nu voorbereiden voor de proloog.
Morgen krijgen we weer wat andere NL toppers in trainingsteamtuinstrahoekstra.
Paddock begint vol te lopen en de inschrijving is vanochtend om 10 uur open gegaan.
Veel NL ‘ers weer dit jaar. Van Limburg tot Friesland hebben ze Sibiu weten te vinden.
Na aanmelden mag je met je kaart langs alle balies voor de benodigde stempels en na de technische motor check krijg je je startnummer.
Ook de Amsterdammers van Team de Doelen ontkwamen niet aan het verplichte video interview. Dirk Schuttel en zijn kornuiten hebben nog volop praatjes. Ik heb zo’n gevoel dat ze na 4 dagen afzien wel wat rustiger zullen zijn 😅, maar we gaan het zien.
Team Tuinstra neemt hun vanmiddag op sleeptouw voor een mooie training rondom de route van dag1 nabij Tocile en Rasinari.
Door onze speciale correspondent Wopke Hoekstra die dit jaar in de verzorging zit. Het evenement begint op dinsdag met een proloog, gevolgd door vier dagen offroad. Day one of the Maxxis FIM EnduroGP of Portugal saw Nathan Watson (KTM) deliver one of the championship’s most dominant winning performances as the Brit secured the top step of the EnduroGP class podium by finishing one-minute and 23 seconds ahead of second placed Matthew Phillips. A day dominated by extreme dust on the motocross and enduro tests, and featuring numerous technical trails, in the Enduro 2 class Jamie McCanney (Yamaha) was the rider to beat as he topped all but one of the day’s special tests to place 23 seconds ahead of championship rival Josep Garcia (KTM).
