Afgelopen zondag was de Enduro in Lierneux waar de jeugdkampioen van vorig jaar van start ging in de E1 inters klasse. Totaal 4 te rijden ronden van 2 uur met daarin 2 schitterende specials. Het werd een lange warme dag.
Het rijden ging goed en Kaiya klokte snelle tijden. Begin van de derde ronde werd het nog even een spannend door een probleem met de voorrem. Gelukkig werd dit snel verholpen zodat hij zijn weg kon vervolgen. De laatste ronden ging er nog even een schepje bij op en het verschil was gemaakt. Een mooie 3e plaats als resultaat. Kaiya is super tevreden over de progressie die hij boekt en kijkt uit naar de volgende wedstrijd.

Double victory for Kytönen
The only 19-year-old junior Rony Kytönen from Finland won the third round of
the European Enduro Championship in Madona, Latvia, on the second day with
another day’s victory in the class and the overall ranking and not only the
overall victory over both days, but he also extended his lead in the junior
class „E1“. For the young rider this is the first overall victory in the
European Championship. “This gives me a lot of self-confidence,” said the
Husavarna rider, whose father Vesa, a former enduro world champion (1999),
had accompanied him on this trip.

Juniors fight to the end
At the third round of the European Enduro Championship in Latvia the juniors
fought for the overall victory until the last special-test on the first
competition-day: Up to this tim the Finn Roni Kytönen was still back:
“Things didn’t go so well in the very first test, but I almost caught up
until the end – I knew that I simply had to risk everything.“ – The
Husqvarna rider did as he said and even managed to take seven seconds off
championship leader Kristof Kouble. So finaly the Finn finally won the day.

De Oost Europa Rally 2019 was weer een groot enduro feest en is gewonnen door Eric Deschepper.
De eerste heuvelklim is meteen scheidsrechter voor het klassement. Maar liefst 6 kemphanen gaan voor de overwinning en doen de hele week niet echt voor elkaar onder. Met 32 graden starten zonder te acclimatiseren is wennen. Via mooie zandpaden en grasvlaktes de grens over naar Roemenië. Prachtige route door de heuvels, op naar de special.
De heuvelklim die vorig jaar veel energie en moeite koste lag te wachten. Ja hier moet ie zijn, kijkend en zoekend en de navigatie (sporen) hier omhoog? Gas erop … dit klopt niet dikke afgrond !. Nee terug…. dan moet dit hem zijn pfff wel steil rotsen …. moet lukken; kut wel erg steil bijna achterover en nog een keer …. kut weer verkeerd…. en terug. Nou iets verder terug ( lees 10 m). Ja hoor dit is hem … lul let dan goed op tijdens de briefing .. na de beek direct rechts . Nou ja … er was niemand voor mij (en droog) dus kon in 1 keer met twee vingers in de neus omhoog. Check controle .. en weer door.. tot aan TC 2.
